"Storm Approaching"

"Storm Approaching"

I've wanted to photograph this old homestead for quite some time and had envisioned the result in my head. A few weeks ago, everything fell into place and this is what I created.
Another which could tell so many stories...

Location: south Arkansas.

"The Turkey Dance"...

"The Turkey Dance"

I photographed this turkey hen today as she was entering a clearing. To my surprise, she decided to dance. She began to shuffle, spin and shake her leg. It will surely soon be the new dance craze at local clubs.
The fuzzy halo you see around her body is all the dust/dirt flying from her feathers as she spun herself.

Blue Lake

It was a clear, winter evening at sunset. The sun lit the ridge in the background, while the lake was in the shadow, reflecting the dark blue, clear sky.

"Hog Wild Iron Horse"

According to local stories, this chopper was once used to transport moonshine in the late 40's. Regardless, it is an impressive piece of iron art. Check out the mohawk!

"Little House on the Prairie"

This is not the home of the popular tv show, but this homestead reminds me of the Little House on the Prairie. At a glance, you may gloss-over this photograph, but if you take a moment to study it, you may find a complex composition and various interesting and supporting elements. Just imagine the conversations you could hear inside or outside the home.

Location: North Arkansas.

Dollars and Cents...

"Dollars and Cents..."

I found this old cash register inside of an abandoned train caboose. Seen behind the register, the cash drawer had been broken and removed. There's so much history and stories that these items could tell.

To protect the contents from further abuse and vandalism, I'd rather not mention the details of this location.
